Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

The end of the year is approaching and we at Mette Klingsten Law Firm would like to take this opportunity to thank clients, partners and friends for a happy and eventful year and to wish you a Merry Christmas and a good 2019.

The company has been developing well during the year. We have been fortunate to work on many exciting cases and we have enjoyed cooperating with existing clients and partners whilst also establishing strong new relationships, which we look forward to continuing in the new year.

Notably, we are observing continued internationalization in the area of employment and labour law. Many companies are recruiting employees from abroad, have local employees in other countries or are posting employees abroad for a shorter or longer period. This ever-increasing internationalization gives rise to a growing need for cross-border counseling and advice, including in a legal context. In this connection, we appreciate our international network, including the other members of the ELLint network, a group of law firms in Europe – and now also China – all specializing in employment and labour law.

In 2018, we have had the great pleasure of welcoming three new employees; Assistant Attorney Sidsel Devantier, Legal Consultant Victoria Armstrong and Ellen Bremholm, our new Accountant and Office Manager.

With the new year, we intend to continue our nuanced concept of employment and labor. Most of our cases still relate to assistance to Danish and foreign companies in connection with employment and labor law, as well as the legal areas that naturally link to this. In 2018, the new Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act have been the subject of considerable attention and it has been an exciting process to help companies adapt to the new requirements of the Regulation and assist in the handling of the first emerging cases which have arisen after the entry into force of the Regulation and the Act.

The entry into force of the Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act also gives us the opportunity to continue and sharpen our focus on IT solutions in 2019. We look forward to working on IT solutions that make it easier to handle data protection requirements, whilst simultaneously facilitating the exchange of information, including between ourselves and our clients and collaborators.

There has been much to be happy with in the year that has elapsed and there remains much to be seen in the new year.

Merry Christmas and a truly Happy New Year.
